PSG shifts focus to Diogo Costa after Zion Suzuki transfer fails

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has reportedly seen a potential transfer for Japanese goalkeeper Zion Suzuki fall through. Despite an agreement being reached with Parma for a deal worth approximately 35 million euros, Suzuki declined the move to the French capital. The decision was reportedly driven by his desire to secure a starting role rather than serving as a second-choice goalkeeper behind Matvey Safonov.

Following the collapse of the Suzuki deal, PSG is now considering Diogo Costa, the 26-year-old Portuguese international from FC Porto, as a high-profile alternative. Costa is under contract with Porto until 2030, with a release clause estimated at 60 million euros. While Chelsea is also monitoring his situation, PSG may relaunch interest in the goalkeeper as the transfer window nears its conclusion. The potential arrival of Costa would further complicate the hierarchy among PSG's current goalkeepers, including Lucas Chevalier and Matvey Safonov.
