Psilocybin Studies Show Microdosing Guide and Alcohol-Linked Mood Benefits

A new guide on microdosing psilocybin outlines protocols such as the Fadiman schedule, recommending sub‑perceptual doses of 0.1‑0.5 g of dried mushrooms to achieve subtle enhancements in creativity, mood and neuroplasticity. The guide notes that clinical research is still limited and that optimal dosing remains unclear.

A separate observational study of U.S. adults found that individuals who occasionally used magic mushrooms while drinking alcohol reported fewer depressive symptoms than those who drank alcohol without psilocybin. Researchers cautioned that the findings do not prove a causal effect and emphasized the need for controlled trials to confirm any therapeutic benefit.
