BRI Super League: PSM Makassar defeats PSIM Yogyakarta as Madura United draws 3-3

In the fifth week of the BRI Super League 2026/2027, several key matches unfolded across Indonesia. PSM Makassar secured their first victory of the season by defeating PSIM Yogyakarta 2-1 at Sultan Agung Stadium. Despite playing with 10 men after Dusan Lagator received a red card in the 79th minute, PSM held their lead following goals from Fahrul Aditia and Stefan Jevtoski. PSIM's Ze Valente scored a late penalty, but it was insufficient to stop their losing streak. PSIM coach Jean-Paul van Gastel expressed frustration over the result, specifically questioning the lack of VAR intervention during a controversial throw-in that led to PSM's opening goal.

In another high-scoring encounter, Madura United FC and Bhayangkara FC played to a 3-3 draw at Gelora Madura Ratu Pamelingan Stadium. Danilo Santacruz scored twice for Madura United, while Jefferson Brenes, Matias Ocampo, and Sani Rizki Fauzi provided the goals for Bhayangkara FC. The match was marked by intense competition and multiple disciplinary actions, including a red card for a Bhayangkara player and red cards for officials from both sides.

Meanwhile, PSS Sleman prepares to face Persebaya Surabaya with high confidence following a 3-0 win over PSM Makassar. However, the team faces a setback as midfielder Moussa Bagayoko is sidelined with a knee injury sustained in a previous match.
