PSIM Yogyakarta dismisses head coach Jean Paul Van Gastel

PSIM Yogyakarta management has officially terminated its partnership with head coach Jean Paul Van Gastel following a poor start to the 2026/2027 Super League season. The decision follows a five-match winless streak, including a recent 1-2 defeat against PSM Makassar at Sultan Agung Stadium.

Club President Yuliana Tasno stated that the move was necessary to ensure the stability and continuity of the club as they currently sit in 16th place, within the relegation zone. While Van Gastel has been dismissed, the club will retain his supporting staff, including the physical and goalkeeper coaches, for the time being.

Guntur Cahyo Utomo has been appointed as the caretaker coach for upcoming matches. Management is working to find a permanent replacement within a one-month regulatory window.
