PSOE approves changes to candidate lists in Badajoz
The PSOE Federal Committee has approved changes to the party's candidate lists for the general elections in Badajoz. The national leadership at Ferraz has repositioned the candidates for the Senate, placing José Luis Quintana, the Government Delegate in Extremadura, at the head of the list.
This decision displaces Rafael Lemus, the former general secretary of the Badajoz socialists, who had previously been selected by the Provincial Committee to lead the list. Lemus will now occupy the third position. In the Congress candidacy, María José Fernández Hormigo has replaced Ana María Fernández Rodríguez in the third spot.
The Badajoz provincial executive has expressed support for these changes, stating that the political project “goes beyond the people” who make up a candidacy and emphasizing total cohesion with the national strategy. The modifications are framed as part of the federal organs' competencies and are not considered anomalous, as similar changes have occurred in other provinces.
