PSOE de Leganés faces internal crisis as four executives resign

Four members of the PSOE Executive Commission in Leganés have resigned, citing a “profound and total loss of confidence” in the current local leadership. The group of resignees includes Sara Oviedo Vallés, María José Carrasco Ramírez, Elena Ayllón López, and Bernardo Ramos Vañó.

The departures are directed at the party's Secretary General, Miguel Recuenco. The resigning members claim the organization has shifted toward a model characterized by the concentration of decision-making, a lack of dialogue, and the failure to uphold internal agreements.

Sara Oviedo specifically announced her withdrawal from the upcoming primary process to select the candidate for the 2027 municipal elections. She cited her dismissal as deputy spokesperson following the death of Javier Márquez as a key factor, describing the move as being made “without arguments.” The resignations occur as Recuenco remains the sole candidate for the mayoral primary process.
