PSOE demands rehabilitation of the ZA-912 highway in Zamora

The PSOE in Zamora has submitted a Non-Law Proposition to the Cortes of Castilla y León, demanding a comprehensive rehabilitation of the ZA-912 highway. The road, which spans over 40 kilometers and connects the N-631 with Alcañices, serves as a vital link for the Sierra de la Culebra and Aliste regions.

Procuradores argue that the road's deterioration is linked to increased heavy traffic following the 2022 Sierra de la Culebra wildfires, during which large quantities of burnt wood were transported through the area. They are calling on the Junta to provide a full evaluation and the necessary budget for complete repairs, noting that previous emergency interventions, such as those following a road collapse in May 2023, are insufficient for long-term recovery.
