PSOE demands removal of insults from Ceuta cemetery

The PSOE of Ceuta has condemned the appearance of graffiti containing grave insults directed at the Socialist Party, its members, and its representatives on the walls of the Santa Catalina cemetery. The party has demanded that the local government of Juan Vivas order the immediate removal of the messages.

Socialist representatives expressed concern that the graffiti has remained visible for weeks despite the cemetery being municipal property with dedicated maintenance staff. The party criticized the local executive for what it described as a lack of action.

Sandra López Cantero, spokesperson for the PSOE Gestora in Ceuta, stated that while political disagreement is a right, freedom of expression does not justify using public spaces as a stage for hate, intimidation, or vandalism. The party noted that the presence of these messages is particularly inappropriate ahead of the All Saints' Day holiday, when many citizens visit the cemetery to honor deceased loved ones.
