PSOE members in Santa Cruz de Tenerife back Arocha and Valbuena

Socialist party members in Santa Cruz de Tenerife have expressed support for Marta Arocha and José Antonio Valbuena as candidates for the Congress of Deputies. In a recent assembly, Arocha received 71 votes and Valbuena received 65 votes, positioning them as the preferred candidates for the province's seats on the PSOE list.

While the assembly's vote is non-binding, it reinforces the candidates favored by the regional leadership. The selection process is expected to move to the Regional Committee for endorsement and subsequently to the Federal Committee for final ratification.

The move also highlights internal political tensions within the party. While the Santa Cruz group supports the candidates, other influential figures, such as Adeje Mayor José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga, have shown opposition to Valbuena, stemming from past disagreements regarding ecological transition policies and local development projects.
