Portugal is facing a wave of planned labor and social unrest. These actions are driven by dissatisfaction over unfulfilled 2024 agreements regarding salary revisions, career progression, and the failure to equalize risk supplements with those of the Judicial Police.

Multiple security associations and unions have demanded an urgent meeting with the Minister of Internal Administration, threatening national demonstrations in cities such as Lisbon, Porto, Faro, and Leiria if their demands are not addressed within a week.

Simultaneously, the CGTP-IN trade union has announced a month-long mobilization period, culminating in a large national demonstration on October 17 in Lisbon, Porto, and Coimbra. The union is demanding a 15% wage increase for all workers and a rise in the national minimum wage to 1,100 euros by 2027.
