GNR officer injured in Almada after motorcyclist flees stop order

A member of the Guarda Nacional Republicana (GNR) was injured on Sunday after being struck by a motorcycle in the Costa da Caparica area of Almada. The incident occurred on the Estrada da Fonte da Telha when the motorcyclist failed to comply with an order to stop.

The officer sustained minor injuries, primarily to the limbs, and was transported to the emergency department at Hospital Garcia de Orta. Emergency response efforts involved 12 personnel from the Cacilhas and Trafaria Firefighters, the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM), and the GNR, supported by five vehicles.

The motorcyclist, who was riding alone, fled the scene following the collision. The GNR is currently conducting investigations to locate the suspect and identify the individual responsible.
