PSSI advises Indonesian players to limit social media disputes
The General Secretary of the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI), Yunus Nusi, has advised Indonesian players to exercise restraint regarding their social media activity following recent controversies involving Justin Hubner.
Hubner, a naturalized player, sparked significant debate after Indonesia's 0-3 loss to Vietnam in the ASEAN Cup 2026 group stage. He criticized the Vietnamese players' celebrations on social media, noting that they had forgotten previous encounters in World Cup qualifiers and labeling the tournament an unofficial FIFA event. This led to intense exchanges between supporters of both nations. Hubner later reported receiving personal threats and attacks online. While PSSI condemned the personal attacks against their player, Nusi urged players to be more mindful of their online presence.
