PSSI imposes season‑long fan‑attendance ban on Persipura Jayapura

The Indonesian football federation (PSSI) disciplinary committee handed Persipura Jayapura five sanctions after supporter unrest following a 0‑1 loss to Adhyaksa FC Banten in the Pegadaian Championship 2025/2026 at Lukas Enembe Stadium on 8 May 2026. The penalties include a total fine of Rp240 million, with a Rp30 million fine specifically for the club’s responsibility for fan misconduct.

The most severe sanction is a ban on holding matches with spectators for the entire 2026/27 season when Persipura serves as the home team. Additional fines were imposed for the throwing of smoke bombs, flares and fireworks, the launching of bottled water onto the pitch, and a pitch invasion that saw supporters enter the field and chase officials. The match‑organising committee was also fined Rp20 million for failing to maintain order and security.

PSSI warned that any repeat of similar incidents could trigger even harsher penalties. The sanctions represent one of the toughest disciplinary actions taken by the federation this season, aiming to curb violence and protect the safety of football events in Indonesia.
