PSV Eindhoven draws 2-2 with Fortuna Sittard in Eredivisie opener

Defending Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven opened their Eredivisie season with a 2-2 draw against Fortuna Sittard at the Philips Stadium. Fortuna Sittard took an early lead in the 10th minute through Ole Romeny, who capitalized on a defensive error by Ryan Flamingo.

PSV responded in the second half, with Flamingo scoring a header in the 55th minute to equalize. The champions briefly took a 2-1 lead in the 79th minute via Noah Fernandez, but Fortuna Sittard secured a point in stoppage time when Edouard Michut scored a powerful long-range goal in the 92nd minute.

Following the match, PSV coach Peter Bosz expressed significant frustration, describing the team's performance as ‘bad’ rather than merely sloppy. He criticized individual errors and defended his tactical system against suggestions that it contributed to the result. The match also featured Indonesian international Justin Hubner, who played the full 90 minutes for Fortuna Sittard.
