Fortuna Sittard holds PSV Eindhoven to 2-2 draw in Eredivisie opener

Defending Eredivisie champions PSV Eindhoven opened their season with a 2-2 draw against Fortuna Sittard at the Philips Stadion. The match featured notable performances by Indonesian internationals Ole Romeny and Justin Hubner, both of whom played the full 90 minutes for Fortuna Sittard.

Fortuna Sittard took an early lead in the 10th minute through Ole Romeny, who capitalized on a defensive error by Ryan Flamingo. PSV responded in the second half, with Flamingo scoring a header in the 55th minute to equalize. PSV then appeared to take control when Noah Fernandez scored in the 79th minute to make it 2-1.

However, Fortuna Sittard secured a point in stoppage time. In the 92nd minute, Édouard Michut scored a powerful long-range goal from outside the box to level the score at 2-2. The result marks a difficult start for PSV, following recent losses in preseason and the Johan Cruijff Schaal.
