Joel van den Berg joins Celtic from PSV in £3.4m transfer

The summer transfer window has concluded with significant movement for Dutch clubs PSV Eindhoven and Sparta Rotterdam, as well as Scottish side Celtic.

Joel van den Berg has completed a £3.4 million move from PSV to Celtic on a four-year contract. The 19-year-old midfielder described the move as a major step in his career and expressed a desire to make the fans proud. PSV replaced him by signing Ayoni Santos from Sparta Rotterdam.

PSV Eindhoven also finalized the loan of Lutsharel Geertruida from RB Leipzig with an option to buy. Technical Director Earnest Stewart noted that the deal for Geertruida required twelve weeks of negotiation. Other notable PSV activity includes the arrival of Mikkel Bro Hansen, Sam Lammers, and Filip Kostić, alongside the high-profile sale of Ismael Saibari to Bayern Munich for a record €50 million.

In the Eredivisie, Sparta Rotterdam secured Isaac Babadi on a one-year loan from PSV with an option to purchase.
