PSV's Sven Mijnans and NEC's Kodai Sano in focus as Dutch clubs navigate player roles and transfers
Midfielder Sven Mijnans, newly signed by PSV, said he is not accustomed to the club's attacking style that features two top strikers. He expects to play in a flexible role, sometimes as a number 10 or a box‑to‑box midfielder, rather than being used as a dedicated striker.
NEC coach Dick Schreuder said that Japan‑born midfielder Kodai Sano’s planned move to TSG Hoffenheim has collapsed, but the player is still expected to leave the club later this summer. Schreuder praised Sano’s personality and resilience after he missed the first pre‑season matches but returned to the lineup against RSC Anderlecht.
