Two women in the Psychiko area have fallen victim to a coordinated fraud scheme involving individuals impersonating employees of the Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator (HEDNO).
In the first incident, the perpetrators contacted a resident by phone, claiming there was an imminent risk of a power outage. They convinced the woman to place cash and jewelry in a specific location outside her residence for safekeeping. The suspects then stole the items, which were valued at approximately 100,000 euros.
Shortly after, a second woman in the same area was targeted using an identical methodology. The suspects used the same pretext regarding potential electricity disruptions to instruct her to leave her property outside her home.
Greek police are currently investigating both cases and believe the incidents were carried out by the same group of individuals. Investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend the suspects.
