Psychiko wildfire contained after emergency response

A fire in Psychiko, Attica, has been brought under control and no longer has an active front. The blaze occurred on Friday afternoon at the highest point of the area, near the boundary of Veikou Grove and Galatsi.

Emergency response efforts included 64 firefighters, four ground crews from the 1st Special Disaster Response Unit (EMODE), and 15 vehicles. Two helicopters provided aerial water drops, while the Municipality of Psychiko assisted with water tankers. The Athens Arson Investigation Unit has been deployed to determine the cause of the fire.
