Psychologists challenge judicial appointments in Gualeguay

A group of psychologists, supported by their professional college, has filed a legal challenge with the Superior Tribunal of Justice (STJ) regarding the appointment of two professionals to the Interdisciplinary Technical Team (ETI) in Gualeguay, Argentina.

The applicants are contesting Resolution No. 265, issued on July 3, which appointed Marianela Montiel and Maura Sturzenegger to interim psychology positions. The group alleges the selection process was “hermetic” and lacked transparency, citing “grave vices of arbitrariness, lack of motivation, and an impact on equal opportunity.”

According to the filing, although the positions were part of an open call and applicants met all requirements, the process allegedly bypassed standard procedures: no interviews were conducted with the signing applicants, no merit order was published, and no objective weighting criteria were disclosed. The professionals are requesting that the appointments be revoked and are seeking immediate access to all records, resolutions, and minutes that supported the decision.
