Psychology degree regulations and assessment standards in Brazil

Psychology degree programs in Brazil are subject to specific regulatory requirements regarding modality and assessment methods. Current regulations, including a decree from May 2025 and National Curriculum Guidelines, mandate that the bachelor's degree in Psychology must be offered exclusively in a face-to-face format. While certain components may be organized differently, a 100% distance learning (EaD) degree is not permitted.

The professional training emphasizes psychological assessment, which requires mastery of scientific methods, personality inventories, and intelligence scales. Practitioners must use instruments validated by the SATEPSI system to ensure ethical and legal validity. Training involves integrating psychometric tests with projective techniques and clinical observation to guide treatments and forensic evaluations.
