PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara to hire 10,000 workers and expand cooperative palm‑oil management

PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara announced a plan to recruit more than 10,000 employees, including supervisors and operational staff, to professionalise plantation management and boost productivity and local welfare.

The state‑owned firm signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Cooperatives, pledging to involve cooperatives in the management of its palm‑oil lands. Agrinas currently oversees about 850,000 ha of oil‑palm area and aims to add roughly 400,000 ha, reaching 1.25 million ha. At least 20 % of the total area – roughly 250,000 ha – will be allocated to plasma estates run by around 250 cooperatives, and 120,000 ha of smallholder farms will also be organised into cooperatives.

The ministry will support cooperative capacity building and will inaugurate a cooperative‑run crude‑palm‑oil (CPO) mill in Musi Banyuasin, covering 3,100 ha with a capacity of 60 tons per hour, intended as a model for other regions.
