PT ANTAM reduces energy consumption by 59% in H1 2026
PT ANTAM (Persero) Tbk reported a 59% reduction in energy consumption during the first half of 2026. The state-owned mineral mining company attributed this decrease to various efficiency initiatives and the integration of renewable energy across its operational areas.
Total energy consumption for the period was recorded at 4.46 million gigajoules (GJ). Alongside energy savings, the company achieved a 15.62% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, which exceeded its initial target of 4.60%.
A key component of this strategy is the implementation of a solar power plant (PLTS) at PT Gag Nikel. This facility features a 500 kilowatt peak (kWp) capacity, utilizing 910 solar modules and 400 battery units to reduce reliance on diesel generators. Additionally, the company reported progress in environmental reclamation, covering 95.69 hectares and including the planting of over 70,000 trees.
