PT Bumi Resources moves forward with Loyal Metals acquisition as shares hold steady

PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) announced progress on its planned takeover of Australian gold‑copper miner Loyal Metals Ltd. The company signed a Scheme Implementation Deed, but the transaction remains subject to a series of conditions precedent, including approval by Loyal Metals shareholders and compliance with Australian corporate law. No cash or shares have been transferred yet, and the deal will not become legally effective until all conditions are met. The acquisition is expected to be completed by mid‑August 2026, pending court approval in Australia.

On the market side, BUMI’s shares traded at Rp179 on 7 August 2026, matching the previous close after fluctuating between Rp176 and Rp189 during the session. The company reported a 27.9 % year‑on‑year revenue increase to US$866.8 million and a 50.3 % rise in operating profit to US$83.1 million, lifting its operating margin to 9.6 %.
