PT Dirgantara Indonesia delivers eighth NC212i transport plane to Indonesian Air Force
State-owned aircraft manufacturer PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) delivered its eighth NC212i aircraft, tail number AX‑2135, to the Indonesian Air Force. The ferry flight departed PTDI's Bandung Delivery Center on July 30 and arrived at Abdulrachman Saleh Air Base in Malang, East Java. Production Director Dena Hendriana said the aircraft is the eighth of nine ordered by the Defense Ministry, with the final unit slated for delivery in October 2027.
The NC212i is equipped with German‑made MT‑Propeller MTV‑27 propellers and Honeywell TPE331 engines, all EASA‑certified, offering reduced vibration, lower noise, and improved high‑altitude stability. It can perform multiple roles, including troop transport, cloud‑seeding for weather modification, and aerial mapping. Pilot Lieutenant Colonel Andika Ardyagana confirmed the aircraft’s operational readiness after successful Flight Acceptance testing.
