PT Dongsuh Chemical Cilegon opens Indonesia's first CTP Binder facility

PT Dongsuh Chemical Cilegon (DCC) has inaugurated Indonesia’s first Coal Tar Pitch (CTP) Binder production facility in Cilegon, Banten. The facility is designed to strengthen the national aluminum industry supply chain and reduce reliance on imported raw materials.

The plant has an annual production capacity of 50,000 tons of CTP Binder and 38,000 tons of creosote oil. CTP Binder is a critical material used in the manufacturing of carbon anodes, which are essential for the aluminum smelting process to ensure production efficiency and quality.

DCC utilizes soft pitch produced by PT Krakatau Poschem Dongsuh Chemical (KPDC) as its primary raw material, creating an integrated domestic supply chain. Jang Yeol Jeon, Chairman of Dongsuh Chemical Group, stated that the facility serves as a solution to build a more resilient domestic supply chain and support the growth of a more self-sufficient Indonesian aluminum industry.
