PT Era Media Sejahtera Tbk partners with Chinese firms for AI data center project

PT Era Media Sejahtera Tbk (DOOH) has signed three Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with Chinese companies to develop an artificial intelligence (AI) data center ecosystem and supporting infrastructure in Indonesia.

The partnership includes Jianxi Jiusheng International Electric Power Engineering Co Ltd, China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Group, and GOME Fintech Asset Management Holdings Limited. The collaboration aims to develop solar power plants with a capacity of up to 2 gigawatts (GW) and an AI data center campus with a capacity of up to 1.6 GW in West Java.

West Java was selected due to its proximity to Jakarta, the national center for digital service demand, and its existing fiber optic and electrical infrastructure. In the initial phase, the solar power project is planned to have a capacity of 300 MW AC, while the AI data center targets an information technology (IT) capacity of 50 MW, with gradual capacity leasing planned through 2027.
