PT KAI restores train services in Yogyakarta after Klaten collision

Train operations in the Daop 6 Yogyakarta region have returned to normal following an incident involving the Malabar train (KA 68) from Bandung to Malang, which collided with a truck at JPL 295 in Klaten during the early hours of Thursday.

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) reported that teams worked quickly to evacuate the train carriages and repair the affected tracks. The Sancaka 84 train from Yogyakarta to Surabaya Gubeng was the first to pass the site at 08:10 WIB after the recovery process was completed.

To assist passengers affected by delays, KAI implemented service recovery measures, providing snacks, light meals, or heavy meals depending on the duration of the delay. The company also issued an apology for the inconvenience and urged road users to remain vigilant and prioritize train movements at level crossings.
