PT Kereta Api Indonesia secures Rp10.84 billion in lost passenger items
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) reported that between January and July 2026, staff secured 14,890 lost items with an estimated total value of Rp10.84 billion. The recovered items include 3,371 high-value objects such as mobile phones, laptops, jewelry, and cash, alongside 10,795 ordinary items and 724 food items.
In July 2026 alone, there was an increase of 2,234 lost items, including 502 high-value goods valued at approximately Rp1.98 billion. As of the end of July, KAI had successfully returned 7,066 items to their rightful owners following a verification process.
KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication Anne Purba urged passengers to double-check luggage racks and seats before disembarking to ensure a comfortable journey. Passengers who realize they have lost items are advised to report to Customer Service, security personnel, or use the Contact Center 121 service.
