PT Pelindo Solusi Maritim accelerates energy transition via equipment electrification

PT Pelindo Solusi Maritim (PSM) is accelerating the energy transition within port environments through the electrification of cargo handling equipment and human resource competency development. As part of the Pelindo Group’s Green Port initiative, PSM has modified 16 pieces of equipment to run on electric power instead of fossil fuels.

The electrified machinery includes four specific types: Gantry Jib Cranes (GJC), Gantry Luffing Cranes (GLC), Fix Jib Cranes (FJC), and Rail Mounted Gantry Cranes (RMGC). To support this technological shift, PSM conducted a three-day training program from September 22–24, 2026, in Ciawi, West Java. The training was attended by 30 participants, including operators, technicians, and managers from six regional branches.

Nurhadi, Director of Operations and Commercial at PSM, stated that the training is a strategic step to ensure personnel are prepared to manage electric-based technology that is more environmentally friendly, efficient, and reliable.
