PT Pelni strengthens maritime safety and emergency preparedness

PT Pelni (Persero) is strengthening its maritime safety culture and emergency preparedness through specialized training and operational evaluations. In collaboration with the Ministry of Transportation, the company is conducting workshops to equip crew members with the skills necessary to handle emergency situations.

To reinforce these standards, PT Pelni has launched the Fleet Safety Excellence Award 2026. This program targets various vessel types, including passenger, pioneer, cargo, livestock, and rede ships. The initiative evaluates aspects such as emergency response, safety drills, safety leadership, and the reporting of hazards and near-miss incidents. The program aims to foster a shared commitment to safety among captains, officers, and all crew members across the company’s fleet.
