PT PELNI to expand maritime services to Donggala Port
PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (PELNI) will begin serving Donggala Port in Central Sulawesi via the passenger ship KM Dorolonda starting October 31, 2026. This move is part of a mandate from the Ministry of Transportation to improve maritime accessibility and strengthen regional connectivity.
Nuraini Dessy, PELNI's Director of Passenger Transport Business, stated that the relocation of KM Dorolonda's docking site aims to provide closer travel access for the community. While KM Dorolonda moves to Donggala, KM Lambelu will continue to serve Pantoloan Port, ensuring that maritime transportation services in Central Sulawesi remain operational through both locations.
PELNI is coordinating with relevant authorities to ensure port facility readiness, passenger safety, and smooth boarding processes. The company emphasized its commitment to safety standards and service excellence for the KM Dorolonda route, which connects several regions including Surabaya, Balikpapan, Bitung, Ternate, Sorong, Manokwari, Nabire, Serui, and Jayapura.
