P. T. horror teaser receives native PC port by fan developer
A fan-made native PC port of the 2014 horror teaser P. T. (Playable Teaser) has been released by developer LoreanXavier. Originally a teaser for the cancelled Silent Hills on PlayStation 4, the project aims to preserve the experience by rebuilding the game logic in C++ and utilizing a Vulkan-based renderer.
The port includes modern technical enhancements such as Ray Tracing for shadows and reflections, support for upscaling technologies like DLSS, AMD FSR, and Intel XeSS, and compatibility with VR via OpenXR. It also introduces new features like a photo mode, a free camera, and a third-person experimental mode.
Because the project does not include copyrighted assets, users must provide their own files extracted from a PlayStation 4 copy of the game to run it. The release has gained significant attention after Hideo Kojima shared the project on social media, providing personal recognition to the developer, though it is not an official Konami or Kojima Productions release.
