PT Royal Agro Industri expands coconut processing capacity

PT Royal Agro Industri (RAI) is expanding its downstream processing capabilities by acquiring new production machinery from Beyond Machinery in China. This investment aims to increase the company’s total coconut processing capacity to over 2 million coconuts per day by 2027.

The new equipment will be deployed across several facilities. Existing plants in Manado, North Sulawesi, and Sampit, Central Kalimantan, will use the machinery to add new production lines. Additionally, the technology will be integrated into a new facility currently under construction in Riau, known as PT Garuda Coco Industri, which is projected to handle 1 million coconuts per day.

RAI currently operates three other processing plants: PT Dewa Agricoco Industri in Halmahera, North Maluku; PT Tri Mustika Cocomanaesa in Manado; and PT Samuda Coco Indonesia in Sampit. The expansion is intended to meet rising global demand for coconut derivatives, including desiccated coconut, coconut milk, charcoal, and coco fiber.
