PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk receives ESG Award 2026

PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) has received the ESG Award 2026 from the KEHATI Foundation in the Capital Market sector, specifically under the Listed Company category. The award recognizes the company’s commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles through the development of eco-friendly building materials and decarbonization efforts.

SIG reported a 21 percent reduction in Scope 1 greenhouse gas emission intensity compared to the 2010 baseline. Additionally, Scope 2 emissions decreased by 15 percent compared to the 2019 baseline. These reductions are driven by the use of alternative fuels, cleaner energy, and the production of green cement, which can have carbon emissions up to 38 percent lower than conventional cement.

In 2025, the company’s use of alternative fuels increased by 24 percent to 681,000 tons, utilizing industrial waste, biomass, and refuse-derived fuel (RDF). This shift resulted in a coal consumption reduction of approximately 467,000 tons. Other sustainability initiatives include the use of solar panels and Waste-Heat Recovery Power Generation (WHRPG) technology to convert production heat into electricity.
