PT Semen Padang confirms conveyor belt fire will not disrupt production

PT Semen Padang has confirmed that a fire involving a 105-meter conveyor belt used for transporting mining materials in Padang, West Sumatra, has not disrupted cement production or distribution. The incident occurred on Thursday morning in the Batu Gadang area.

Internal fire teams and local authorities successfully extinguished the flames within an hour. The company stated that emergency procedures were implemented to prevent the fire from spreading, and no injuries or fatalities were reported. Alternative supply routes for supporting materials are in place, and existing stock levels are sufficient to meet consumer and strategic project demands. Technical teams are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
