PT Semen Padang employees receive Hajj financial literacy training

Nearly one hundred employees of the PT Semen Padang Group participated in a financial literacy socialization event titled “Building Financial Readiness Towards Hajj Pilgrimage.” Held at the Semen Padang Multipurpose Building, the program aimed to encourage employees to begin planning for the Hajj pilgrimage during their productive working years rather than waiting until retirement.

The initiative addresses the significant waiting period for Hajj departures in West Sumatra, which currently reaches approximately 26 years. Participants were provided with practical strategies for routine income allocation to fund the pilgrimage without compromising family financial stability. The session also included education on using the BPKH Apps to monitor fund development, benefits, and real-time departure estimates.

Key officials in attendance included Harry Alexander from the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH), Bank Nagari Finance Director Roni Edrian, and West Sumatra Ministry of Religious Affairs Regional Head Muhammad Rifki. To facilitate immediate action, the event provided on-site assistance for employees to open Hajj savings accounts.
