PT Usha meets OCA leadership at Asian Games welcome reception

Indian Olympic Association (IOA) president PT Usha attended the official welcome reception for the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. During the event, she met with Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) President Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani and other members of the Asian sporting community.

Prior to the games, Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani led the 110th OCA Executive Board meeting in Nagoya. Discussions included preparations for future sporting events, such as the 2026 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Riyadh, the 2028 Asian Beach Games in Cebu, and the 2029 Asian Winter Games in Almaty.

In preliminary competition, Indian Teqball athletes have seen mixed results. While the men’s doubles team of Mohammad Anas Imran Beg and Declan Marshall Gonsalves was eliminated following losses to Vietnam and South Korea, Quimcy Joaquim Dsouza reached the women’s singles semifinals. Dsouza will compete in the bronze-medal match after a semifinal loss to Indonesia’s Ima Sumaya.
