PT Vale Indonesia supports 127 MSMEs in Luwu Timur

PT Vale Indonesia Tbk, a member of Mining Industry Indonesia (MIND ID), is intensifying its efforts to bolster the local economy in Luwu Timur, South Sulawesi, through the empowerment of cooperatives and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

As of September 30, 2026, the company has supported 127 MSMEs across four districts. Notably, 74 of these businesses have gained market access via the Telaloa Souvenir Center. These initiatives were highlighted during the Cooperative and MSME Expo Week, held from October 6–10, 2026, in Sorowako, which coincided with the 79th National Cooperative Day.

Bernardus Irmanto, President Director and CEO of Vale Indonesia, stated that the company's success is measured not only by production and investment but also by the benefits provided to the community. He emphasized that nickel industry development and downstream projects are intended to create economic multiplier effects, providing opportunities in goods, services, and supporting business activities.

During the event, which was attended by Indonesian Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono, Vale Indonesia received two awards recognizing its role as a strategic partner to both the South Sulawesi Provincial Government and the Luwu Timur Regency Government.
