PT Vale supports multi-stakeholder collaboration for Matano Lake

PT Vale Indonesia Tbk is supporting multi-stakeholder collaboration to ensure the sustainable management of the Matano Lake ecosystem. This commitment was highlighted during a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) organized by the Balai Besar Konservasi Sumber Daya Alam (BBKSDA) of the Ministry of Forestry, with support from PT Vale.

The collaboration aims to bring together the government, business sectors, environmental observers, academics, and local communities. PT Vale outlined several ongoing programs to support the lake's sustainability, including conservation efforts, community empowerment, water quality management, and progressive reclamation of completed mining areas.

Through the Matano Iniaku Conservation Program, initiatives include agroforestry development, community nurseries, river basin rehabilitation, ecotourism, and strengthening creative economies. PT Vale emphasized that conservation efforts must involve the community to ensure long-term, sustainable impacts.
