PT Wings Surya warehouse fire in Gresik requires foam to control

A large fire broke out at the PT Wings Surya Driyorejo Factory warehouse in Gresik, East Java, on Friday, September 4, 2026. The blaze specifically affected Warehouses 2 and 3, which were used to store raw materials for soap and detergent production.

Firefighters utilized foam to combat the flames, as the stored materials—including potassium and sodium bicarbonate—caused the fire to spread rapidly. The firefighting effort involved multiple units, including teams from the Gresik Regency Fire and Rescue Service (Driyorejo, Menganti, and Gresik City posts) and the Surabaya City Fire and Rescue Service (Wiyung and Warugunung units). Additional assistance and water supplies were provided by various companies and industrial zones.

It took approximately six hours for crews to bring the main blaze under control. Following the initial containment, personnel continued to douse the area to prevent reignition from remaining embers. The exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
