Péter Gulácsi returns to play after armed robbery at Spanish home

Hungarian goalkeeper Péter Gulácsi has returned to action for Villarreal CF following an armed robbery at his home in Spain. The incident occurred during the early hours of a Tuesday, when perpetrators entered the residence through a garage window.

Reports indicate the robbery lasted approximately 40 to 60 minutes, during which the assailants threatened Gulácsi and his family to gain access to a safe. The thieves reportedly escaped with approximately 200,000 euros in cash, along with luxury watches and jewelry. While the family was present in the home, no physical injuries were reported.

Gulácsi missed Villarreal's recent Champions League match against Napoli due to the event but returned to the lineup for a 0-0 draw against Elche. Following the match, the goalkeeper expressed his gratitude to fans for their support, stating, “It is hard to put into words what we have been through in the last few days,” and noted his relief that his family is safe.
