Péter Jakab Szőke transitions from architecture to fine arts
Artist Péter Jakab Szőke has transitioned from a career in architecture to professional painting. His creative journey began in Salgótarján, influenced by the contrast between modern urban environments and rural landscapes. After working in architecture, where he focused on creating living spaces, he decided at age 34 to pursue fine arts under the mentorship of András Berkes.
His current artistic style involves an abstract foundation using acrylics, characterized by free gestures and a layered approach to build depth. His work explores themes of duality, memory, and the tension between reality and the subconscious.
