Péter Magyar visits Dunaszentbenedek amid Danube construction

Péter Magyar, leader of the Tisza Party, attended a village day in Dunaszentbenedek, a municipality in Bács-Kiskun county. The area has seen increased activity due to the construction of a Danube threshold designed to ensure sufficient water depth for the Paks Nuclear Power Plant during hot or dry periods.

During the event, Magyar interacted with local residents and participated in a fishing activity, where he caught a fish and selected a pink flamingo from a gift table.

Addressing recent concerns regarding the riverbed, Magyar stated that the deepening of the riverbed is a predictable and natural process during the construction of a threshold. He noted that specialists are continuously filling the riverbed and reinforcing embankments, with approximately 70,000 cubic meters of stone already utilized. He emphasized that the Paks Nuclear Power Plant continues to operate stably and that port construction on the left bank of the Danube is progressing well for Dunaszentbenedek.
