Péter Magyar's military helicopter trip to Paks detailed in official documents
Documents released by the Hungarian Defence Forces provide details regarding Péter Magyar’s helicopter flight to Paks on August 12. The flight, which cost the Ministry of Defence 1.2 million forints, was officially designated as a personal transport task rather than a training flight.
Magyar previously justified the use of the military helicopter by stating that the flight costs would have been incurred regardless, as pilots and aircraft must meet mandatory minimum annual flight hours. While records confirm that practice flights using Airbus H145M helicopters were scheduled for that day, the specific aircraft used for the Prime Minister’s transport (side number 02) had no other flights planned for that date.
The Ministry of Defence declined to provide specific data regarding the exact number of flight hours required for pilots or how many hours had been completed, citing national security and defense interests. The flight followed a route from Szolnok to Hadik Port and Paks.
