Péter Róna criticizes Tisza Party leadership and NVVH appointment

Economist and academic Péter Róna has criticized the first four months of the Tisza Party government, arguing that the country has not undergone a true regime change because the centralized power structure remains intact.

Róna specifically addressed the controversy surrounding the appointment of Anna Unger as the head of the National Asset Protection and Asset Recovery Office (NVVH). He noted that the appointment has caused widespread dissatisfaction, as many expected the role to go to Miklós Ligeti, the legal director of Transparency International Hungary and a recognized anti-corruption expert.

According to Róna, Unger’s subsequent offer to Ligeti to serve as her deputy was both a humiliating gesture and a failure in leadership strategy. Róna further criticized Péter Magyar for his recent criticisms of Ákos Hadházy, suggesting that Magyar's attempts to downplay Hadházy's long-term anti-corruption work are disingenuous.
