Ptolemaida police solve three vehicle‑theft cases, recover hidden car
The Department of Crime Investigation of the Central Macedonia Police completed investigations into three vehicle‑theft incidents that occurred in Ptolemaida between 16 June and 6 July 2026. Three local men, aged 20, 21 and 26, were identified and charged with theft in concert, attempted theft, property damage and computer‑fraud offences. They used a stolen credit card found inside one of the vehicles to make four unauthorised transactions totalling €53.45.
A coordinated police operation on 8 July located one of the stolen cars concealed in a stream and returned it to its owner. The suspects were also linked to two further thefts – a June 16‑17 robbery of a 59‑year‑old foreigner’s vehicle and a 6 July attempted theft of a 51‑year‑old Greek resident’s car. The case file has been forwarded to the Kozani misdemeanor prosecutor’s office.
