Ptolemaida–Xino Nero Road Axis Project Approved in Greece

The Greek Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport has approved the construction of a new vertical road axis linking Ptolemaida and Xino Nero in Western Macedonia. The project, budgeted at €113 million, aims to improve road safety, enhance regional connectivity and stimulate economic development in the area. Minister Christos Dimas announced that the ministry will implement the project following a decision by the inter‑ministerial committee. Local officials, including Amynteio mayor Ioannis Liasis, have long advocated for the road, describing it as a critical step for transport and commerce.

The initiative is part of the broader Fair Development Transition Plan for Western Macedonia, which seeks to upgrade infrastructure and support local entrepreneurship.
