PTPA threatens Andy Roddick's Served podcast with defamation lawsuit

The Professional Tennis Players Association (PTPA), co‑founded by Novak Djokovic and Vasek Pospisil in 2019, sent a letter dated Jan. 7 through defamation law firm Clare Locke threatening a lawsuit against Andy Roddick’s Served podcast. The letter alleges that freelance reporter Tim Rohan spread false claims about double‑dealing and an FBI investigation involving PTPA and its sponsor Winners Alliance, causing irreparable damage to PTPA, former executive director Ahmad Nassar and Winners Alliance, and contributing to Djokovic’s departure from the organization.

The correspondence demands that the podcast provide a meaningful opportunity to comment on the allegations, disclose supporting documents, and limit reliance on anonymous sources. The letter was also submitted as an exhibit in a federal case involving former PTPA general counsel Wajid Syed Mir. Ahmad Nassar resigned as executive director in March, and the dispute highlights ongoing tensions between the player‑led association and tennis governing bodies.
