PTSC M&C exports offshore wind substations to Europe for Baltica 2 project
PTSC M&C, a member of PETROVIETNAM, has successfully completed the manufacturing, launching, and transport of four offshore substations for the Baltica 2 offshore wind project. This marks the first time offshore wind products manufactured in Vietnam have been exported to Europe.
The Baltica 2 project is a joint venture between Ørsted (Denmark) and PGE (Poland) located in the Baltic Sea. With a total capacity of approximately 1.5 GW, the project will feature 107 wind turbines and four offshore substations, each with a capacity of 375 MW. Once operational, it is expected to supply electricity to roughly 2.4 million Polish households starting in the fourth quarter of 2027.
The contract for the substations and four module supports was awarded to the Semco Maritime – PTSC M&C consortium in June 2023. The scope of work includes design, procurement, construction, and commissioning. The substations are currently being transported to Europe to support the energy transition in the region.
