PTSC M&C exports 16,000 tons of offshore wind substations to Europe

PTSC M&C, a subsidiary of Petrovietnam, has completed the fabrication of four offshore substations (OSS) for the Baltica 2 offshore wind project. The total weight of the four structures and modular supports is 16,000 tons.

Following a 43-day load-out operation, the components departed Vung Tau port to begin a 15,000 km journey to the Baltic Sea. This marks the first time an offshore wind project manufactured by a Vietnamese company has been exported to the European market.

The Baltica 2 project is being developed by Ørsted and PGE in Polish waters, approximately 40 km off the coast. Once operational in 2027, the 1.5 GW wind farm is expected to provide green energy to 2.4 million households and reduce CO2 emissions by 5 million tons annually.
