PTT AŞ handles 210 million shipments in first half of 2026
Turkey's Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, announced that PTT AŞ handled 210 million mail and cargo shipments during the first half of 2026. This represents an approximately 17 percent increase in cargo volume compared to the same period last year.
Daily operations averaged over 1 million cargo acceptances and deliveries, peaking at over 3 million during high-demand periods. The delivery success rate reached nearly 95 percent. Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Bursa, and Antalya were identified as the cities with the highest delivery volumes.
As part of digital transformation efforts, PTT AŞ implemented an NFC-supported collection application, allowing customers to pay via credit card using handheld terminals. This method was used for approximately 300,000 shipments. Additionally, new delivery flexibility options were introduced via SMS, allowing customers to direct packages to neighbors, building security, or automated parcel lockers.
